TakeCost (“TakeCost,” “we,” “our,” or “us”), a platform operated by Congic Inc., values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and disclose information about you when you use our TakeCost application (“TakeCost” or “the Application”) and related services. By using TakeCost, you agree to the terms outlined in this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

a. Information You Provide to Us

Account Information: When you create an account on TakeCost, we collect your name, email address, and other information you provide. Passwords are not stored on our servers; we use Firebase for authentication, which manages your login credentials securely on our behalf.

Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription or services, payments are processed by third-party payment processors. We do not store financial data, such as credit card details, on our servers.

b. Information We Collect Automatically

Usage Information: Details about your interactions with TakeCost, such as features used, time spent, and pages viewed.

Device Information: Includes IP address, browser type, operating system, and device identifiers.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies: We use cookies and similar technologies to keep TakeCost working, remember your preferences, and understand how people find and use our website and application. You can manage or delete cookies through your browser settings.

Marketing attribution cookies. When you visit takecost.com, we set two first-party cookies, tc_ft (first visit) and tc_lt (most recent visit from an outside source), on the takecost.com domain. They record how you arrived at our website: the source, medium and campaign (for example, a search engine, a social network or an ad campaign), any campaign or ad-click identifier in the link you followed, the referring website’s domain, the first page you landed on, and the date. They don’t contain your name, email address or other contact details. We use them to understand which channels bring people to TakeCost. If you create an account, this information is sent to our analytics provider (Google Analytics) together with your sign-up. These cookies expire after 180 days. You can delete them at any time in your browser settings, and doing so does not affect your use of TakeCost.

c. Third-Party Tools

We use the following third-party services on our website and in the TakeCost application. Some of them set their own cookies or collect information about your device and how you use our services, under their own privacy policies.

  • Google Analytics: measures how visitors use our website and application.
  • Google Ads: measures the results of our ads and may show our ads to people who have visited our website.
  • Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram): measures the results of our Meta ads and may show our ads to people who have visited our website.
  • LinkedIn Insight Tag: measures the results of our LinkedIn ads and provides aggregated audience insights.
  • LogRocket: records how visitors interact with our website (for example, page views, clicks and scrolling) so we can find and fix problems and improve the site.
  • CallRail: tracks which website visits lead to phone calls, using a tracking phone number.
  • Intercom: provides our chat, help messages and product emails.
  • Calendly: lets you book a demo with our team.
  • YouTube and Vimeo: play videos embedded on our website.
  • Stripe: processes subscription payments (see section 6).
  • Firebase (Google): handles account sign-in (see section 2a).

You can limit or block cookies from these services through your browser settings, and through the ad-preference settings provided by Google, Meta and LinkedIn.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the collected information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve TakeCost.
  • Process transactions and send confirmations.
  • Respond to your comments, questions, and requests.
  • Send administrative and promotional communications.
  • Monitor and analyze trends, usage, and activities in connection with TakeCost.
  • Enhance AI-driven features within TakeCost for better accuracy and efficiency.

4. Use of AI for Service Improvement

We may use anonymized user-generated content, such as drawings and design data, to enhance our AI-driven features in TakeCost. We take commercially reasonable steps to anonymize data before using it for AI training. This process ensures privacy and security while improving accuracy and efficiency for all users.

5. Sharing Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. However, we may share it with:

  • Service Providers: Third parties that perform services on our behalf, such as payment processors, hosting providers, and analytics services. These providers are contractually required to protect your data.

We use third-party payment processors to handle all transactions securely. No financial data, such as credit card details, is stored on our servers. Payment providers adhere to industry security standards to protect your information.

10. Refund Policy

Refunds are handled in accordance with our Terms of Service:

  • You may cancel your subscription at any time, but you must complete the current billing period before cancellation takes effect.
  • Any remaining balance for unused time after the billing period will be refunded, where applicable.
  • Refunds may be issued to your original payment method or point of purchase.
  • If you upgrade to a higher-tier plan, your previous payment will be prorated and applied toward the new plan.
  • If you downgrade to a lower-tier plan, a prorated credit will be applied to your account for future payments.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time. If changes are significant, we will provide notice through TakeCost or via email. Your continued use of TakeCost after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised Privacy Policy.
